Poutastic balms are made by hand from start to finish.  The recipes were developed in our kitchen; perfected by use and tasting of family and friends.  We melt and pour each small batch by hand with all natural ingredients, essential oils and flavors.  The labels were dreamed up by a six year old girl who wants to make enough money to buy and maintain a pony. We laid it out in editing software, she chose the colors, and *BAM*!  The labels are printed and applied to each balm with care; lip balms are shrink wrapped, and everything is stored for distribution in in Sophia’s “warehouse” (aka the spare bedroom).

Many people struggle to accept that a six year old little girl could dream up, envision and run a business.  They’ve never met Sophia.  She is an ambitious little girl who is very curious and goal driven.  I firmly believe that being homeschooled contributes to her success.  She is given opportunities that many children do not get; to explore and question and pursue individual interests that a rigid public school environment can’t allow.  She does her math, reading and writing, but gets to add engineering, marketing and chemistry!
